Football Game Preview: Sutter Huskies vs. Rio Linda Knights + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Losi Asiata and Joseph Corey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sutter Huskies will head out to take on the Rio Linda Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Sutter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Rio Linda likes a good challenge.

Sutter's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-0 win over El Camino. Fans of the Huskies have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

It was another big night for Braden Scritchfield, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes, and also rushed for 45 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 33 points the game before, Rio Linda was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 32-13 to Casa Roble. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Although Rio Linda took the loss, they still got scores from Joseph Kalanui and Louis Means.

Rio Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Sutter, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Sutter has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 345.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rio Linda struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 253.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Sutter against Rio Linda when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-16 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Corey, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only five carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Huskies still be able to contain Corey? There's only one way to find out.
