Volleyball Recap: Skyline Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skyline can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olympia Bears on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 24-26, 25-19, 25-12.

Emma Gutke paced Skyline's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gutke got some help from Piper Hawryluk and her 25 assists. Finally, Tessa Reed kept Skyline's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Skyline and nudges their season record down to 18-10-3. As for Olympia, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Skyline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Mount Si on the 21st. As for Olympia, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Curtis on the 21st.
