Basketball Game Preview: Banning Broncos vs. Cathedral City Lions

The Banning Broncos will challenge the Cathedral City Lions at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Banning is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.

Banning took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 71-45 margin over Desert Mirage. With the Broncos ahead 39-18 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Banning relied on the efforts of Sajon Prince, who posted 22 points, and Kamari Horsman, who put up 18 points. The dominant performance gave Horsman a new career-high in points. Riley Aguilar was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Cathedral City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 67-27 defeat at the hands of Desert Hot Springs.

Cathedral City's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Banning, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
