Soccer Game Preview: Brownwood vs. Stephenville

Brownwood hasn't had much luck against Stephenville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Brownwood Lions will face off against the Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Stephenville will be up against a hot Brownwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Brownwood never let Gatesville get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Hornets are ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stephenville waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Badgers as they made off with an 8-0 win.

Stephenville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Brownwood, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.
