Baseball Game Preview: Lawrence North Wildcats vs. Fishers Tigers

The Lawrence North Wildcats will challenge the Fishers Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lawrence North is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 15th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Park Tudor 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Lawrence North got a great performance from Ryan Whitener as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The Wildcats are 2-1 when Whitener allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Fishers waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Royals. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Hayden Werner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Huston Dunn was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zander Carnahan, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.

Fishers hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton Southeastern struck out eight times.

Fishers' win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Lawrence North, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
