Golden Valley has gone a perfect 8-0 against Atwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will host the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Golden Valley is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Merced, falling 3-0.

Golden Valley was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Merced work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Atwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Capitan. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Atwater started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.

Golden Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-14. As for Atwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Golden Valley beat Atwater 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
