West Point and Starkville are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The West Point Green Wave will be playing at home against the Starkville Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Starkville is facing West Point at the wrong time: West Point suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 9-2 to the Cavaliers. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Green Wave couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Starkville earned a 6-1 victory over Houston on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Sadie Foote, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Presley Ravencraft, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Starkville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Houston only posted a batting average of .214.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Starkville, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

West Point was able to grind out a solid victory over Starkville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 8-3. Will West Point repeat their success, or does Starkville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
