Basketball Recap: Lutheran Warriors vs. Parkway Christian Eagles

Lutheran was the 49-48 winner over Parkway Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lutheran Warriors took a blow against the Parkway Christian Eagles on Friday, falling 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 695th, while the Eagles are ranked 287th).

Lutheran's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luke Perez, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, and Simon Hoeft, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Yakobe, who had seven points and five boards.

Parkway Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Harrison-Lizbinski, who went 7 for 14 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Coincidentally, both will both be playing Hope Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Parkway Christian will head out to face Hope Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lutheran will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
