Volleyball Recap: Garretson Blue Dragons vs. Parker/Marion Pheasants
After flying high against Flandreau on Tuesday, Garretson came back down to earth. The Blue Dragons came up short against the Parker/Marion Pheasants on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pheasants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Saturday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9, 25-12.
Madison Waltman paced Garretson's offense, picking up six kills. Waltman got some help from Vivian Johnson and her 11 assists. Johnson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Annalise Hoeck, each putting up two.
Parker/Marion had a senior duo take command as Braelyn Berens had 22 digs and Mara Mohr had ten digs and two aces. Berens has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Garretson's record is now 2-11. As for Parker/Marion, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Garretson has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Dell Rapids on the 23rd. As for Parker/Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Alcester-Hudson on the 20th.
