Softball Recap: Cherokee Takes a Loss

After flying high against Harlan County on Friday, Cherokee came back down to earth. The Chiefs lost 11-4 to the Claiborne Bulldogs on Monday. The Chiefs were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Cherokee now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Claiborne, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Cherokee will venture away from home to face off against Volunteer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Claiborne, they will welcome Pigeon Forge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.57 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
