Softball Recap: Fivay Falcons vs. Hudson Cobras
After flying high against Anclote last Thursday, Fivay came back down to earth. The Falcons lost 19-3 to the Hudson Cobras on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost seven in a row.
Abby Wojcik made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Janie Badu, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Fivay's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Hudson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-8.
Looking ahead, Fivay will welcome Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.3 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hudson, they will head out to challenge Crystal River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
