Owatonna hadn't done well against Mankato West recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Huskies came out on top against the Scarlets by a score of 3-1. The game was the first time the Huskies have beaten the Scarlets on their court since September 24, 2015.

The win didn't come easy: Mankato West scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 14-25, 25-22.

Owatonna is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Mankato West, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Owatonna will square off against rival Mayo at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mankato West is set to challenge their familiar foe Northfield at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
