The South Williamsport Mountaineers will take on the Sullivan County Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Williamsport is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Northwest Area just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by the Rangers and fell 70-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mountaineers have suffered since December 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Sullivan County played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-32 defeat at the hands of Sayre. The game marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sullivan County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for South Williamsport, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Things could have been worse for South Williamsport, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-42 loss to Sullivan County when the teams last played back in January of 2024.
