Softball Recap: Nolan Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mercy Culture Prep

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nolan Catholic). They never let the Mercy Culture Prep Royals get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

Leah Granados made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in hits (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Padilla, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Brenna Frasier also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Nolan Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Nolan Catholic's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7-1.

Coming up, Nolan Catholic will head out on the road to take on Ursuline Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ursuline Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.6 runs per game on average), something Nolan Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they will face off against Nazarene Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
