Game recap: Myers Park High School Football Team defeats Garinger

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Myers Park (Charlotte, N.C.) put an additional 14 points on the board on top of its 36-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Garinger (Charlotte, N.C.) 56-6.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Norris Clay to Scotty McDaniel in the first quarter, the Mustangs were up 42-6 at the half.

Myers Park's standout player in the win was Corey Manning. He kicked eight extra points.

Garinger's only touchdown came on a 50-yard run in the first quarter.

MP has had a rough season, allowing 31.2 points per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Mustangs came away with a 41-0 victory.

The win was a nice bounce back for Myers Park, which lost to Independence last week, 49-7.
