Softball Recap: Voyager Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Voyager Academy was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vance Charter Knights, falling 11-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 back in March.

Voyager Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lainey Higdon, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Gabi Mebane also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Voyager Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Vance Charter, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Voyager Academy has already played their next match, an 11-5 victory against Durham Academy on the 1st. As for Vance Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against Roxboro Community on the 30th.
