Soccer Game Preview: Stoneman Douglas vs. Doral Academy

The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will take on the Doral Academy Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Stoneman Douglas is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Spanish River onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Alexa Jourdan, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Doral Academy fell victim to Cypress Bay and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 1-0. The Firebirds haven't had much luck with the Lightning recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Stoneman Douglas has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-1-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight matchups. As for Doral Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.
