Basketball Recap: Hammond Comes Up Short

After flying high against Marriotts Ridge last Monday, Hammond came back down to earth. The Hammond Golden Bears took a 48-32 bruising from the Reservoir 'Gators on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the 'Gators are ranked 47th).

Hammond has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Reservoir, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Coming up, Hammond will square off against Mt. Hebron on February 21st. As for Reservoir, they will face off against Oakland Mills on Wednesday.
