Basketball Recap: Jake Yost Key Part of a Team Effort in Pirates Win

There's no place like home for Crystal River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 64-55 win over the Hudson Cobras on Wednesday. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cobras, too.

Crystal River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Yost led the charge by going 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and five assists. Yost continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Jenkins, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Crystal River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Crystal River back to even at 5-5. As for Hudson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Crystal River and Sarasota Military Academy will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Hudson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 84-67 win against Weeki Wachee on the 20th.
