Softball Recap: Ridgecroft Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Ridgecroft never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Northeast Academy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Klaire Cherry made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Madison Joyner and Olivia Revelle did most of the damage at the plate: Joyner went a perfect 5-for-5 with one run and one double, while Revelle went 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Revelle has posted since back in April of 2024. Hannah Slaughter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Ridgecroft kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeast Academy only managed two hits.

Ridgecroft pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Northeast Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Ridgecroft has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Lawrence Academy on the 16th. As for Northeast Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Columbia on the 16th.
