Recap: Fort Plain Hilltoppers vs. Galway Golden Eagles
The Fort Plain Hilltoppers had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Galway by a score of 48-35 on Friday. Fort Plain's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Fort Plain found their leader in underclassman Dylan Keane, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The game was Keane's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Benson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fort Plain's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Galway, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Plain will take on Middleburgh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middleburgh has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Galway, they will head out on the road to face off against Wells at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
