Basketball Recap: University City Victorious

University City hadn't done well against Hazelwood Central recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The University City Lions snuck past the Hazelwood Central Hawks with a 61-57 victory. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 54-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.

University City's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Hazelwood Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the University City Lions challenge the 21st Century Charter Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. 21st Century Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully University City likes a good challenge. Hazelwood Central has already played their next contest, a 58-52 victory against Mexico on the 18th.
