Softball Recap: Terre Haute North Vigo Extends Winning Streak to Three

Terre Haute North Vigo entered their tilt with Columbus North on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Bull Dogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kyleigh Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 14 games.

In other batting news, Terre Haute North Vigo let Rayven Wilson and Kara Salmon run wild. Wilson went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Salmon went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Wilson a new career-high. Kenzie Zigler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Terre Haute North Vigo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Terre Haute North Vigo's record now sits at 17-5. As for Columbus North, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-8.

Coming up, Terre Haute North Vigo will be playing at home against Greencastle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbus North, they will take on New Palestine in a tournament on Saturday.
