Basketball Recap: Forest Park Takes a Loss

Forest Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They were outmatched by Drew and fell 50-5. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Aniyah Wingfield and Kayla Mainor, who each put up two points. Aaliyah Ellis held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Drew got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zy'Naizaha Mitchell out in front who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Mitchell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kryistina Boyd, who had 12 points.

Forest Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Drew, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7.

Forest Park will venture away from home to square off against Mays at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Park is facing Mays at the right time seeing as Mays is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Drew, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-36 win against McNair on the 25th.
