Softball Recap: Fairport's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Fairport unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets, falling 14-3. The Red Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Royal Comets earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

Fairport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Runke, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Fairport's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Rush-Henrietta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fairport will take on rival Penfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Raiders are on a four-game streak of home wins, the Patriots a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Rush-Henrietta is set to challenge their familiar foe Webster Schroeder at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
