Preview: Diman RVT Bengals vs. King Philip Regional Warriors
The Diman RVT Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the King Philip Regional Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Diman RVT has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while King Philip Regional will arrive with eight straight wins.
Last Saturday, Diman RVT suffered a tough 42-21 defeat at the hands of West Bridgewater. While losing is never fun, Diman RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while West Bridgewater is ranked 112th).
Despite the loss, Diman RVT got a solid performance out of Sam Perry, who threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns. Kaidyn Dias was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, King Philip Regional can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Attleborough 42-14 at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point King Philip Regional had established a 21 point advantage.
Diman RVT has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for King Philip Regional, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
