Softball Game Preview: Imagine Prep Storm vs. Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles

The Imagine Prep Storm will head out on the road to challenge the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Imagine Prep came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to Heritage Academy. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Storm were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Maricopa Institute of Technology's offense. They came up short against Heritage Academy on Thursday, falling 17-0. The Iron Eagles haven't had much luck with the Heroes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maricopa Institute of Technology's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Imagine Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything went Imagine Prep's way against Maricopa Institute of Technology in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Imagine Prep made off with a 20-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
