Basketball Game Preview: Burlington Township Falcons vs. Pemberton Hornets

The Burlington Township Falcons will face off against the Pemberton Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Burlington Township knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Pemberton likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Burlington Township strolled past Burlington City with points to spare, taking the game 70-53.

Burlington Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quayd Hendryx, who went 8 for 13 en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baron Davis, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

Burlington Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Pemberton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 53-40 to Cinnaminson. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Pirates are ranked 30th).

Burlington Township's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Pemberton, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Burlington Township won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, slipping by Pemberton 60-59. Will Burlington Township repeat their success, or does Pemberton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
