Basketball Game Preview: Harris County Tigers vs. Jonesboro Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Harris County Tigers face off against the Jonesboro Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harris County has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Jonesboro will arrive with three straight wins.

Harris County is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Central on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Harris County was outmatched by Central and fell 58-24. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.

Meanwhile, Jonesboro posted their closest victory since January 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Griffin out 65-62.

Jonesboro is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Harris County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Harris County took a serious blow against Jonesboro in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 74-21. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Harris County was down 43-11.
