Jack Engelthaler leads Basis to victory over Red Mesa

The Basis Yeti stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on Red Mesa with a sharp 60-40 win. The victory was familiar territory for Basis who now have six in a row.

It was another big night for Jack Engelthaler, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. McLane Baillie was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals.

Red Mesa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Begay, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Begay has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jonah Herbert, who scored nine points.

Basis' victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Red Mesa, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Basis will look to defend their home court on Saturday against St. Michael at 5:30 p.m. As for Red Mesa, they will head out on the road to challenge Rock Point at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rock Point will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
