Basketball Recap: Kettering Triumphs

Kettering's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lapeer Lightning 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Captains have posted since December 2, 2024.

Kettering can attribute much of their success to Jordan Jarrell, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Jarrell has posted since back in January. Gustas Garbenis was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kettering now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lapeer, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Kettering has already played their next game (against Lamphere), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lapeer, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
