Basketball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Patterson Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Mountain House Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Patterson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Mountain House challenged Clovis North on Tuesday. Mountain House had to suffer through a 73-38 loss at the hands of Clovis North. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Broncos are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Patterson played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. 2025 welcomed they with a 62-41 loss courtesy of Central Catholic. The Tigers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mountain House will need focus on slowing down Lawrence Price, one of several Patterson players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Johnson, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Patterson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Mountain House, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 9-8.

Mountain House didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Patterson when the teams last played back in May of 2021, but they still walked away with a 75-71 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Patterson's Precious Nnaji, who went 12 of 18 on his way to 29 points and six rebounds.
