Basketball Recap: Concord Spiders vs. Robinson Bulldogs
Concord played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Robinson Bulldogs, falling 68-26. The Spiders have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Kaylin Williams and Alani Smith-Rogers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Williams posted nine points and four steals, while Smith-Rogers went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points.
Robinson was led to victory by Camri Hobbs and Shariyah Rucker. Hobbs went 5 of 6 on her way to 17 points along with eight assists and six boards, while Rucker put up 20 points and four steals. Hobbs' evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Chambers, who had 11 points and three steals.
Concord's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Robinson, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Concord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-52 victory against Carson on the 7th. As for Robinson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-24 win against Northwest Cabarrus on the 7th.
