Basketball Game Preview: Madison Mavericks vs. Brandeis Broncos

Madison hasn't had much luck against Brandeis recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Madison Mavericks will challenge the Brandeis Broncos at 6:30 p.m.

Madison is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 63-12 defeat at the hands of Johnson. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 933rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 113th).

Sophia Campa was Madison's leading scorer, having posted six points. Mikaela Garcia held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Brandeis hadn't done well against Clark recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Brandeis sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 victory over Clark.

Brandeis has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 4-27.

Madison took a serious blow against Brandeis in their previous matchup back in January, falling 74-34. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
