Football Recap: Elmont Memorial Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hewlett two weeks ago, Elmont Memorial came back down to earth. The Spartans received a blow on Saturday as they fell 31-14 to the South Side Cyclones. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Cyclones are ranked 90th).

Elmont Memorial has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for South Side, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

As of now, neither Elmont Memorial nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
