Baseball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. Bucyrus Redmen

The Mapleton Mounties will head out to take on the Bucyrus Redmen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 17 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Mapleton and six for Bucyrus.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Mapleton and South Central had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mounties took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Monday. Mounties fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Trojans since Monday.

Bentley Workman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gabe Wrobleski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bucyrus lost 15-1 to Colonel Crawford on Wednesday.

Bucyrus' loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Mapleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
