Softball Recap: Indianapolis Shortridge Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Shortridge extended their losing streak to eight on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They lost 16-3 to the Traders Point Christian Knights. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly 13 runs.

Indianapolis Shortridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Obajolu, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Key-Unna Coats was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

As for Traders Point Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Traders Point Christian's side, Maddie Pierson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Pierson is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maci Dodson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Indianapolis Shortridge will take on Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Traders Point Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 19-7 defeat against Liberty Christian on the 10th.
