Basketball Game Preview: Cavalier Tornadoes vs. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans

The Cavalier Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cavalier is looking for their season's first win.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-22, which was the final score in Cavalier's tilt against Sargent County on Saturday. The matchup marked the Tornadoes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg came up short against Park River/Fordville-Lankin two weeks ago and fell 38-30. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Aggies are ranked 18th).

Cavalier will have to contain Brooke Gullickson as she made an impact in Drayton/Valley-Edinburg's last game. She posted ten points along with five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleah Pokrzywinski, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Cavalier's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

Cavalier came up short against Drayton/Valley-Edinburg in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 50-44. Can Cavalier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
