Cannon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Durham Academy as they made off with a 4-1 victory. Mia Valencia was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.
Meanwhile, Providence Day's contest on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand Covenant Day a 3-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Providence Day's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Covenant Day are ranked 64th).
