Basketball Recap: Ralston Takes a Loss

Ralston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elkhorn Antlers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Antlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-49 back in December of 2024.

Elkhorn got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Petersen out in front who shot 58% from the field to rack up 14 points and six boards. Petersen is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Grady Friedrichsen, who posted 11 points.

Ralston's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Elkhorn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Ralston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elkhorn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-32 loss against Skutt Catholic on the 27th.
