Basketball Recap: Nansemond River Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nansemond River can now relate to. They fell to the Woodside Wolverines 39-35. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Nansemond River's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points over those games. As for Woodside, they pushed their record up to 23-1 with the win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.

Nansemond River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodside, they will welcome Maury at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maury will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Woodside surely won't give up without a fight.
