Basketball Recap: Kaleik Cook Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Mid Valley on Thursday. They strolled past the Dunmore Bucks with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mid Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleik Cook, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Landon Pratt, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Mid Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Dunmore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Mid Valley will face off against Honesdale at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunmore, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Holy Cross at 7:15 p.m. Holy Cross will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Dunmore surely won't give up without a fight.
