Volleyball Recap: West Florence Knights vs. St. James Sharks
West Florence lost against St. James back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The West Florence Knights came up short against the St. James Sharks, falling 3-0. The Knights have struggled against the Sharks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
West Florence was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made St. James work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-17.
Lexi Rogers and Mi'Kala Woods certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Rogers had three digs, two blocks, and two aces, while Woods had 11 digs. Woods is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last three games she's played.
Even though they lost, West Florence kept the net locked down and finished the game with 36 blocks. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now had at least 24 blocks in seven consecutive contests.
West Florence now has a losing record at 10-11. As for St. James, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
