The Slaton Tigers will take on the Wall Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Slaton comes in on three and Wall on 12.

Slaton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Merkel.

Jacob Lopez was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 111 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, and also threw for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Slaton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, while Wall put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Childress. The Hawks breezed past the Bobcats to the tune of 50-0. Considering the Hawks have won 11 matchups by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Slaton better keep an eye on Landon York. He was instrumental in Wall's win, rushing for 94 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 177 yards and two TDs. Those 94 rushing yards gave York a new career-high. Brady Neal helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards and a rushing touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wall's defense and their five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Dylan Sellers: he forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Slaton's record is now 10-2. As for Wall, their record now sits at 12-0.
