Softball Recap: Mooreville Wins Going Away Against Saltillo

Mooreville won the last time they faced Saltillo and things went their way on Friday too. The Troopers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Troopers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mackenzie Hankins was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Saylem Scruggs was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Mooreville's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Saltillo, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

Mooreville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 win against Choctaw County on the 14th. As for Saltillo, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Grenada on the 14th.
