Basketball Game Preview: Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles vs. Wheatmore Warriors

The Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Wheatmore Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Uwharrie Charter Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Southwestern Randolph on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Uwharrie Charter Academy lost 64-39 to Southwestern Randolph. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Cougars are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Wheatmore was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to Providence Grove. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Wheatmore's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
