Baseball Recap: Stansbury Extends Winning Streak to Three

Stansbury entered their tilt with Hillcrest on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 15-5 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 20-3 win last Wednesday.

Landon Palmer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Xaviah Patch and Beckham Rowley did most of the damage at the plate: Patch scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Rowley scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Rowley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Adams, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Stansbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Stansbury's record is now 8-4. As for Hillcrest, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stansbury will head out to face off against Cottonwood at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Stansbury's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cottonwood has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Hillcrest, they will head out on the road to challenge Juan Diego Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest is facing Juan Diego Catholic at the right time seeing as Juan Diego Catholic is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
