Volleyball Game Preview: Waynesboro Little Giants vs. Rockbridge County Wildcats

Waynesboro is 1-9 against Rockbridge County since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Little Giants are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 7:20 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Waynesboro came up short against Wilson Memorial and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Rockbridge County suffered their biggest defeat since October 24, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Fort Defiance, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Rockbridge County was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Fort Defiance's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-22.

Rockbridge County now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Waynesboro, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Waynesboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockbridge County in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Little Giants since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
