Basketball Game Preview: Show Low Cougars vs. Payson Longhorns

The Show Low Cougars will head out to square off against the Payson Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Show Low came up short against Thatcher on Tuesday, falling 64-42.

Meanwhile, Payson lost to ALA - Ironwood at home by a 64-50 margin on Tuesday. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Show Low's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Payson, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Show Low was able to grind out a solid win over Payson in their previous matchup back in February, winning 53-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Show Low since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
