Preview: Landmark Christian Patriots vs. Heritage Prep Praetorians
Landmark Christian has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will challenge the Heritage Prep Praetorians at 7:00 p.m.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-34, which was the final score in Landmark Christian's tilt against Liberty Christian Prep last Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Landmark Christian got a solid performance out of Jeylanie Torres , who scored 13 points. Cayle Donato was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, Heritage Prep waltzed into Tuesday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 49-35 victory over HEART HomeSchool. Given Heritage Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while HEART HomeSchool is ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Oluwafimijoba Oyedeji continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with 6 blocks. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grace Isnord, who scored 16 points.
Landmark Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Heritage Prep, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Landmark Christian was taken down by Heritage Prep 53-24 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Landmark Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
